how shall i start? Ive been making beats for about 8 years now,and djing for 21 years.
Since i started producing i realised that theres a never ending learning process.and that you always strive for that perfect sound.in the begining i would just vibe and fling together samples.to me the track sounded heavy but to the trained ear,this was not the case.as i learned more i realised that being in key was the key and knowing about the fundamentals of sound levels was also a key factor.after applying these skills my music took on a whole new sound and began to actually sound like music.it also trained my hearing to listen to music in a whole new way.
Quickly i began to hear compression
And EQ.also how reverb was used and how vocals would sound big in the mix.
One thing i will say is that in some cases this knowledge can also lead to you realising that theres a lot of shit out there.and in some cases these are the people at the top making money.but fear not!
Arm yourself with the knowledge and strive for that sound you want.
Together with hard work and long hours.you too can be that top producer.only in this case you would have learned your craft and know what your doing.as well as being able to take control in a studio situation. E.g. if a sound is not sounding right instead of mr big time producer trying to parm you if with bullshit you can examing and adjust yourself and know what you did was correct.
Armed with the knowledge they will know your correct too.
And with this your producing career will hit new heights.
 And even if you never make is as big as ,lets say DR.DRE at least you,ll gain long term success in this mad world we call THE MUSIC BUISNESS.

Marvellous Cain Biography

Marvellous Cain had a series of big tunes during jungle's ragga heyday in 1993-94, including "The Hitman" and "Dub Plate Style." Before signing to Suburban Base in 1995, Cain released tracks on labelmate Sponge's I.Q. imprint, collaborating with Sponge and current Ganja Kru member Pascal under a barrage of names, including Lion Man, Badman, and Gunman. A DJ as well as producer, Cain began typically enough, spinning rave and hardcore in the early '90s and following the style into full-blown jungle by the middle of the decade. He established his own label, Runninz, out of the ashes of I.Q., and has released tracks there as Runninz Kru and CoCain. Cain's sample-heavy style got him into a bit of trouble with his first hit, "Hitman," which sampled a large section of a Cutty Ranks record; Cain agreed to a few remixes for Cutty to keep the issue out of the courts. Cain released Gun Talk, a full-length collection of his most well-known tracks (as well as a few new ones), on Sub Base in 1996. In many tribal house tracks, it is rare to find a core melody or prolonged synth sound, such as those found in house music and similar electronic music styles. Instead, tribal house tracks rely on sophisticated drum patterns for their rhythm. A track can consist of several different drum sounds.

Tribal house rose to prominence during the early 1990s, notably off the releases of New York labels Tribal America Records and, to a lesser extent, Strictly Rhythm Records. The music was staple in New York's most prominent clubs such as the Sound Factory and Roxy NYC. Tribal America Records' infamy within this sub-genre stemmed from their globally popular releases by Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez, Deep Dish, Eric Kupper (aka K-Scope) and MURK amongst others. This popularity led to the formation of a UK sub-label, Tribal United Kingdom. The label also helped launch European artists Farley & Heller, Salt City Orchestra, The Underground Sound Of Lisbon and others who produced in this style.

There is no clear-cut definition of tribal house music, instead tracks are usually classified or perceived as tribal because of their live sound. Tribal house is reminiscent of the ethnic music of various tribes of Africa and South America, and it is not unusual for this music to feature chanting and ululation as a cappellas. Tribal music can be produced with either live (i.e. with real drums and instruments) or digital instrumentation: however, live-produced music of this sort in the purest sense is seen as ethnic, while digital tribal music is called 'tribal house'.

Tribal house is a fusion of various styles of electronic dance music (see Latin House), and can range from uplifting and cheerful to dark and aggressive in mood. It can sometimes distort the boundaries between dark house, which is an offshoot of progressive house, and tech-house, a more techno-driven, "sharper" house percussion beat, as if mixing intelligent dance music and minimal techno. Tribal music can be produced in such a way that it absorbs the characteristics of all styles of house music.[citation ne

Ive been involved in the underground music scene for over 20 years now.it all kicked off after i spent a bit off time in her majestys hotels ( lol ) anyway hip hop and dancehall was my thing but that was soon to change when a few friends of mine invited me to my first acid house rave ( illegal ) now remember i was a hardcore hip hop dancehall head and to witness 15000 people raving together under one roof was a crazy sight.
people hugging and being over friendly i was like W.T.F. anyway after getting over the initial shock i slowly got into the music and after that night had finished i was hooked.
everyweek after that i visited at least 2 raves a weekend. RAINDANCE/PERCEPTION/UNIVERSE/RUNTINGS/MYTHOLOGY/FANTAZIA e.t.c.

The uk music scene from the late 80,s was wicked right up until the late 90,s early 2000
with genres such as RAVE/JUNGLE TECHNO/JUNGLE/DRUM N BASS/UK GARAGE/GRIME/DUBSTEP.
All of which i can gladly say i played a part in pioneering within wales.

Which brings me to the present day!
now tell me what kinda bullshit are we listening too?now some people might say its your age your getting old (lol) bullshit i,m still young and active and my brain still works fine and tells me when i,m hearing bullshit.
oh yeah my ears work fine too they need too i,m a producer.

Heres my point GRIME is no longer GRIME, HIP HOP is no longer HIP HOP, DUBSTEP is no longer DUBSTEP and so on.you feeling what i, saying? All of these genres and more are slowly being taken over by our right wing ulluminatti fuckerie media.
No longer do we have icons like PUBLIC ENEMY,MICHAEL JACKSON,WHITNEY HOUSTON,ALLIYAH.
All these greats have been taken away from us as well as our favourite producers who produce music we can dance as well as relate too.
The thing is were stuck with music that makes no sense has got no message were artists just talk shit.and then repeat that shit all the way through a hip pop turn rave trance dance track.
W.T.F. if its hip hop then lets here hip hop if its dancehall lets here dance hall not pop hall.

My point is music has become a toy for the ritch and is no longer a tool to express feelings or provide a feel good factor
Organisations like X-factor, britains got talent and so on.they say there looking for talent and then show us some media slave with fake tan and teeth try and sing a good track and murder it.
when just around the corner in some forgoten about area of the uk theres a man or woman boy or girl thats got so much soul and talent it,ll make you cry.but you never get to see that talent.why you may ask?
its simple if you read my blog from start you,ll realise what i,m saying.and that is music today is simpley fucked.there are thousands of people like me who have come a long way and have a story to tell but maybe they,ll never get the chance to shine through the dark.
but saying that i do see some light at the end of the media tunnel and there are artists breaking through that hopefully will end this time of bullshit music.

Until then guys keep it real and remember music is not just about money and yourself its about making people feel good and passing a positive message.

Another local label is Machine Records that has an electronic preference. When the label started in 2001, there was no scene to connect with, though gradually it has built up a roster of around 25 artists that have come out of the studio and performed live at regular Cardiff showcases and in Newport, Swansea, and London. Between 2003-2006 the label also used its monthly Terminal club night to bring UK acts on Warp Records and Planet Mu to Cardiff.[2] Machine Records won 'Best Label' at the Welsh Music Awards in March 2005, and its 2008 compilation 'Machine Music! The New Dance Sound of Cardiff' was selectd by DJ Adam Walton as one of the ten best Welsh albums of the decade.

More recently a number of Cardiff acts have found favor on the Dubstep and Electronic Beat scene. Mary Anne Hobbs whilst on BBC Radio 1 included artists such as Stagga,[9] Zwolf [10] and Darkhouse Family[11] within her show, whilst other Radio 1 DJs such as Rob Da Bank and Huw Stephens have also included Monky,[12] Curtamos[13] and Ital Lion.[14] Many of these have also been played on influential stations such as Rinse FM and in 2010 BBC 1Xtra invited Chrome Kids to record a mix of Welsh Electronic Music for their 'In New 1Xtra DJs We Trust' show.[15]
